• Fritz Schmid, President

    Mr. Schmid is the owner and president of the company. Mr. Schmid received his secondary education in his native Switzerland, with university undergraduate and graduate studies at the University of South Florida, in Tampa. After five years with Woodbury & Associates, Inc. in Tampa, Mr. Schmid founded Pfitzco, Inc in 1978. He is a member of SNAME and has 35 years of engineering experience with over 30 years in the marine field.

  • Robert Norton, Mechanical Engineer P.E., Vice President

    Mr. Norton came to Pfitzco, Inc. in June 1994, from the University of Tennessee where he earned a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering. He has since completed his Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of South Florida. In addition, he is a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Florida and has extensive knowledge in all aspects of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering. He is an active member of SNAME as well as the National Society of Professional Engineers and The Florida Engineering Society.

  • John Harrington, P.E.

    Mr. Harrington has provided his experience and expertise in the field of structural and civil engineering to Pfitzco, Inc. for over seven years. Mr. Harrington received a Bachelors (1962) and Masters degree (1967) in Civil Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in the states of Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Virginia and Texas and has over 30 years of experience in a range of projects too numerous to list. In the past Mr. Harrington has taught structural engineering classes at the University of South Florida, Tampa.

  • Douglas L. Snediker, Naval Architect

    Mr. Snediker has a Bachelors of Science in Naval Architecture from Webb Institute, and Masters of Science in Ocean Technology and Commerce from Webb Institute. Mr. Snediker has received several awards such as the Undergraduate Paper Prize from SNAME for undergraduate thesis, and the Stevenson Taylor Memorial Price for the best thesis in the field of marine engineering at Webb Institute.

  • Ashley Hermes, AutoCAD Draftsman

    Mr. Hermes is experienced with AutoCAD 2000, Mechanical Desktop and other drafting/design software. He has gained considerable experience, in various fields, of technical drafting together with three-dimensional modeling. Mr. Hermes has submitted many of his drawings to the various classing societies and regulatory agencies and received approval.

  • Brandon DeWolfe, Naval Architect

    Mr. DeWolfe graduated class valedictorian with a B.S. in Naval Architecture/Marine Engineering from Webb Institute in 2002. He received the Stevenson Taylor Memorial Prize for his senior thesis entitled "Design & Construction of a Strain Gauge Planning Craft Dynamometer for the Robinson Model Basin." He also spent one year at sea as an engine cadet with Stolt-Nielsen and has passed the FE exam in the state of New York
